October 2015

What an incredible day. The orchestra was incredible. We finally met Joseph Mackly, the professional teacher from the orchestra in Port-Au-Prince. We walked in to see a full, legitamate, beautiful orchestra rehearsing real orchestral songs. What an improvement. Instead of teaching students how to hold their bow and play twinkle, we were greeted by a full on concert involving dozens of musicians including trumpet players, clarinets, trombones, violins, violas, cellos, a double bass, and even a timpani. I even had the chance to accompany the orchestra because the bassist was absent. It was truly spectacular. I am so proud of the work the orchestra and Mr. Joseph Mackly have accomplished.
